Oluwatimilehin Onafeso of WAAW Foundation, and other Women Leaders, Celebrated at Chinese Consulate Dialogue in Lagos
The Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Lagos recently hosted a pivotal event, the Lagos Forum: Women’s Empowerment Dialogue, on Sunday, October 19, 2025, in Ikeja. This exclusive, high-level discussion brought together and celebrated outstanding Nigerian women leaders for their exceptional contributions across sectors, offering a special private dialogue with Consul General, Yan Yuqing.
The event spotlighted a select group of honourees, recognizing their impact in women empowerment, advocacy, governance, and social impact. Among these specially invited women leaders were:
Oluwatimilehin Onafeso, Executive Director, WAAW Foundation: Recognized for her leadership in the WAAW Foundation, a key organization focused on empowering women and girls through education.

Glory Oguegbu, Founder, Renewable Energy Technology Training Institute (RETTI): Celebrated for her pioneering work in clean energy, championing women’s skills development in the vital renewable energy sector.
Amb. Dr. Franca Eze, Founder/President MyBodyMyAsset Cancer Foundation: Honoured for her critical advocacy and social impact through the MyBodyMyAsset Cancer Foundation.
These three women, along with others engaged directly with Consul General Yan Yuqing. This platform served not only as a celebration of their achievements but also as a catalyst for promoting women’s leadership and cross-cultural collaboration, directly engaging high-level diplomatic representation on topics crucial to women’s leadership and future collaboration.
