TalentMakers Foundation Set to Host TechSpark Conference 2026 to Inspire Future Innovators
As technology continues to transform industries, economies, and the future of work, experts have stressed the need to equip young people with the skills, exposure, and opportunities required to thrive in an increasingly digital world.
To contribute to this vision, TalentMakers Foundation is set to host TechSpark Conference 2026, a technology and innovation conference designed to inspire young people to explore opportunities within the digital economy and develop the mindset needed to become future innovators, creators, and problem-solvers.
Scheduled to hold on Saturday, June 20, 2026, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, the conference is themed “Innovation Begins With You” and will bring together students, educators, innovators, entrepreneurs, technology professionals, and aspiring tech leaders for a day of learning, networking, and meaningful conversations around technology and innovation.
Founded in 2024, TalentMakers Foundation is a nonprofit organisation committed to empowering young Africans through technology education, digital skills development, mentorship, and access to opportunities. The organisation was established on the belief that Africa’s future depends on its ability to nurture talent, foster innovation, and create pathways for young people to succeed regardless of their background.
In a relatively short period, the foundation has recorded significant impact, reaching more than 2,500 students across 11 secondary schools, engaging over 20 educators, awarding scholarships, and providing capacity-building opportunities for more than 500 undergraduates. Through initiatives such as TechSpark and its school-based technology awareness programmes, the organisation continues to introduce young people to digital skills, emerging technologies, and future career opportunities.
According to the organisers, TechSpark Conference 2026 was created to provide a platform where young people can connect with industry professionals, learn from experienced practitioners, and gain insights into the rapidly evolving technology landscape.
The conference will feature keynote presentations, panel discussions, networking opportunities, and interactive conversations designed to expose participants to emerging trends, career pathways, innovation opportunities, and the future of technology. Attendees will also have opportunities to engage directly with speakers and professionals from different sectors of the technology ecosystem.
This year’s speaker lineup includes Barrister Omotoyosi Edeboh, Executive Director of TalentMakers Foundation; Saifur-Rahman Yusuf, Lead Technical Project Manager; Sophia Neji, Executive Director of FIGN; Ochibry Promise Esq.; Fatima Alhassan, Women TechMakers Ambassador; Qahharrat Ibrahim, QA Engineer; and Susan Odunrinde, Founder and CEO of Cactus Tech.
Speaking on the vision behind the conference, the organisers noted that innovation begins when young people are exposed to the right opportunities, ideas, and mentorship.
They explained that TechSpark is more than a conference. It is part of a broader effort to bridge the gap between talent and opportunity by helping young people understand the possibilities available within the technology ecosystem and equipping them to participate meaningfully in the future economy.
As Nigeria continues to position itself as a growing technology hub on the African continent, initiatives such as TechSpark Conference provide an important platform for nurturing the next generation of innovators, entrepreneurs, and technology leaders.
The conference is expected to attract students, young professionals, founders, educators, and technology enthusiasts from across Rivers State and beyond, all united by a common goal: learning, connecting, and discovering how innovation can create new opportunities for growth and impact.
