The EmpowerHER Project, implemented by the Centre for Teens Health and Development (Centre4teens), successfully concluded last Saturday, March 14, 2026, with a vibrant graduation ceremony held in celebration of International Women’s Day, marking the end of a transformative journey for 100 adolescent girls who participated in the programme.

Sponsored by The Links, Incorporated Tulsa (OK) Chapter, the EmpowerHER Project was designed to equip adolescent girls with essential life skills, leadership abilities, and practical knowledge to support their personal growth and community engagement.

The closing event brought together partners, facilitators, and participants to reflect on the impact of the programme. The girls shared powerful testimonies about their experiences, highlighting how the sessions helped them build confidence, acquire vocational skills, and strengthen their aspirations for the future.

Throughout the five-week community intervention, participants engaged in structured sessions focused on learning, self-discovery, and capacity building. The programme provided a safe and supportive environment for the girls to explore their potential and develop practical skills that contribute to their personal and economic growth.

A major highlight of the graduation ceremony was the exhibition of products and crafts created by the participants during the training. The showcase demonstrated the entrepreneurial and practical skills gained, reinforcing the programme’s focus on equipping girls for self-reliance.

The ceremony also served as a moment of recognition, celebrating the girls’ commitment, resilience, and dedication throughout the programme.

The EmpowerHER Project reflects a strong commitment to empowering adolescent girls with the tools, confidence, and opportunities they need to thrive and contribute meaningfully to their communities.

The organisers expressed appreciation to The Links, Incorporated Tulsa (OK) Chapter for their generous support, as well as partners including Beyond the Classroom Foundation, NGYOUTHSDGs, FOWGI, The Smile Outreach, Adara Initiative, AbleFort Initiative, and Esteem Empowerment Network, for their contributions to the success of the project in Kuchiko Bwari Community, Bwari Area Council, Abuja.

As the programme concludes, the graduates of the EmpowerHER Project move forward not only with new skills, but also with strengthened voices, leadership potential, and the confidence to shape their futures.
